Changing engine oil and filter is very simple. It took us maybe 30 minutes. Let’s save time and $$$. The ten minute oil change place charge like $90 and the other places is like $70 and over a hour. I don’t like wasting time or money. So I did it myself and had my son help so he can add this to the list of things he can do. Plus he’ll be a great asset to his future wife and daughter(s). Make sure you look up or look in your car’s manual for the proper items you need for your vehicle. Here is a list of things we used.

Depending on your vehicle:

• full synthetic 5w-30 motor oil
• PBL15436 filter
• 32mm oil filter socket
• 15mm socket
  Normal stuff:
• ratchet wrench
• drip pan
• funnel
• car jack lift
• something to choke the wheel (one wheel is good front and back)
• paper towels or towel
• gloves (optional)
